Welcome to the web site of the Circuit of Service Lodges The Circuit, currently comprising 16 lodges, exists to promote comradeship and fraternal contact between military masons. The Lodges and the Arm or Service affiliations, contacts/links and the history of the circuit are on separate pages - click on the link below.
To qualify as a member of the circuit a lodge must have a distinguishable military culture and ethos that can only be achieved by a predominance of servicemen or veterans in its membership ranks. In keeping with the fundamental aim of the Circuit, this web site aims to alert masons who are servicemen or veterans to the existence of member lodges. One of the great joys of the Circuit is the number of old friends rediscovered when visiting. All our lodges extend an open invitation to any military mason who would like to visit their regimental, corps or services lodge.
2005 was a highly active and successful year for the Circuit. We increased our membership to 16 and sponsored 2 significant events. In June the 25th anniversary of Certa Cito Lodge was celebrated in style that was a most memorable evening and somewhat of a reunion for many. Our second event was the Trafalgar Meeting of Navy lodge that was a joint meeting with Royal Navy Lodge. It was well attended by military and maritime masons and the highlight was a presentation by the Deputy Grand Master to the Jubilee Sailing Trust of a cheque for £20,000. A lecture on the work of the trust was then given highlighting the challenges and rewards of sailing with the disabled. All were impressed by the progress and results of the Trust and the impact that it has on the lives of those disabled who are given a magnificent opportunity to experience sailing conditions that would challenge the able bodied.
In 2006 the Circuit will focus on the Prestonian Lecture given its topic - Masonic VCs. Navy lodge, at its 5th of May meeting, will feature an unoffical prestonian lecture to which military masons are cordially invited - if interested please contact the Circuit Secretary on the link page.
The museum at FMH will also have an exhibition until the end of may to support the prestonian theme of 2006 and the Circuit is organisation a private presentation by the Curator of the Museum in May. If you would like to attend then please contact the Circuit Secretary on the links page.
